Barbara Jean Bailey, age 79 of Milbank, SD died February 14, 2017, at Milbank Area Hospital.

Funeral services will take place Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. DeVern Schwenn will officiate and burial will be in LaBolt Cemetery, LaBolt, SD.

Visitation will be Friday, February 17, at Mundwiler Funeral Home from 5 – 7 p.m. and continue Saturday morning, one hour prior to the service.

Casket bearers will be Sean Bailey, Keven Bailey, Keven Todd Bailey, Jacob O’Brien, and Will Dragt, Kylie O’Brien. Honorary bearers will be her grandchildren.

Barbara Jean Bailey was born December 21, 1937, in Big Stone City, SD. She was the daughter of George Edward and Elizabeth Marian (Love) Haugen.

Barbara grew up in the Big Stone City area and graduated valedictorian of her class at Big Stone City High School in 1956.

Barbara was united in marriage with Keven Bailey on May 17, 1958, in Ortonville. Barbara lived with her husband and children in Germany and throughout the United States as Keven served in the United States Army. Following his discharge, the family returned to Ortonville, MN and settled in Milbank, SD. In 1975 they moved to Florida and in 1986 they moved to Utah. They returned back to the Milbank area in 1992. Barbara worked at Golden Living Care Center until her retirement. She was a homemaker who adored her children and being involved in their activities.

Barbara loved to play bingo, go antiquing, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Keven Bailey of Logan, Utah; Lisa (Michael) O’Brien of Watertown; SD, Shannon (Tom) Peschong of LaBolt, SD; and Sean Bailey of Revillo, SD; her sister, Phyllis Losey of Franklin, WI; two brothers: Pete (Diane) Haugen of Webster, SD; and Larry (Linda) Haugen of Hampton, MN; 13 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, George and Elizabeth Haugen; husband, Keven; two brothers: Don and Cliff Haugen; one sister: Beverly; and 3 nephews: Mike, Roger, and Jerry.
