The 28th Annual Piano Festival is Sunday, February 26, at the Milbank High School theatre. The festival is free and open to the public. Guest artist is Rebecca Wieting.

Wieting is a 2014 graduate of MHS and the daughter of Paula and Daryl Wieting of Milbank. She is in her junior year at Northern State University in Aberdeen pursuing a double major in Elementary and Special Education.

Wieting has been a pianist since she was eight years old and says, “I continue to play the piano because it relaxes me and is a great stress reliever.” She encourages piano students to “practice, practice, practice – never stop playing – even if it’s just for fun. You will never regret it.”

In addition to Wieting’s performance, piano students will perform in two sessions – one at 1:30 and one at 3:15 p.m. Lunch will be served between sessions. The festival, sponsored by Milbank area piano teachers, showcases the talents of piano students and features a guest artist to inspire and encourage the students.
