Milbank seventh grade student, Bennett Schwenn, advances to the state Math Counts Contest on Saturday, March 11, in Pierre. Schwenn punched his ticket at the chapter competition at Northern State University in Aberdeen on February 8. He ranked ninth overall with a final score of 34.

“The top two teams qualify for the state contest,” says Math Counts Coach Josh Schmeichel. “Also, the next four individuals not on the top two teams advance to the state contest.”

Also competing for Milbank were: Isaac Johnson, Allison Leddy, Madi Thue, William Karels, Max Lightfield, Savannah Stengel, and Jessica Van Peursem. The team finished eighth in the team rankings with a score of 28.25.
