MHS musicians presented their annual Pops Concert February 13, in the high school theatre. Albert Pavlinac acted as the emcee. The 2016-2017 MHS drumline and colorguard also performed.

The band started the night with Take on Me. Soloists Lindsey Geyer and Tim Gabriel sang Can’t Help Falling in Love and How to Save a Life. The jazz band played In the Mood and Sharp-Dressed Man. Soloists included: Korinne Roggenbuck, Ramsey Wieber, Andrew Falk, Nathan Loutsch, Kimberlly Aburto, and Caro Klettke.

Kelly Clarkson and Greg Kurstin’s Piece by Piece was performed by Amberly Warren. Other solos included: Jimmie Berkner with Jolene, Elisabeth Schwenn with If Only, Kerissa DeBoer sang How Far I’ll Go, Kimberlly Aburto sang Send My Love, Shawn Stemsrud played the piano and sang And So It Goes, Chase Pinkert accompanied himself on the piano for How Did You Love, and Taylor Thue performed Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton’s Over You.

The concert choir guys sang Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond. The concert choir girls sang When We Were Young by Adele. Devon and Taylor Balling sang Lost Boy. Brown Eyed Girl was sung by Landon Brown, Chase Pinkert, Jordan Riley, Jake Sandvig, Adam Thomas and Isaiah Wollschlager. Fly was performed by Jodi DeVaal and Mackenzie Weinkauf. The senior class girls sang Songs of a Disney Princess.
