Lois Elaine Mueller, age 92, of Milbank died February 19, 2017, at St. William’s Care Center.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 27, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank. Rev. Bill Cornelius will officiate. The organist will be Kristy Tostenson.

Visitation will be Sunday at Mundwiler Funeral Home from 5 – 7 p.m. and continue on Monday morning, one hour prior to the service at Emanuel Lutheran Church.

Casket bearers will be grandsons: Jeff Mueller, Gregg Mueller, Scott Mueller, Aaron Clapp, Jacob Mueller, and Kevin Schwartz. Burial will be in the Milbank Cemetery.

Lois Elaine (Rubbert) Mueller was born April 17, 1924, in Milbank, SD. She was the daughter of Henry and Emily (Ramharter) Rubbert. Lois worked at the Chateau Theator and Mittelstadts Dry Goods Store while in high school. She also taught Sunday school after she was confirmed. She was baptized, confirmed and married by Pastor F. Wessler. She belonged to the Walther League and sang in the choir. Lois graduated from Milbank High School in 1943. After her high school graduation she worked at the Evangelical Insurance office on Main Street for 5 years.

She was united in marriage with Phillip H. Mueller on September 1, 1948, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank, SD. They purchased a farm from John Johnson 5 ¼ miles north of Milbank. They moved into Milbank in 2001. From this marriage they had eight children. Lois was a lifelong member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and was the oldest member of the Tabitha Ladies Aide.

Lois Mueller is survived by her four daughters: Joyce (Dave) Schwartz of Parkers Prairie, MN; Lorraine Mueller of Spring Lake Park, MN; Barbara (Jim) Walker of Sioux Falls, SD; and Rebecca (Brent) Zell of Enterprise, AL; and two sons: Howard (Karin) Mueller of Milbank, SD; and Tom (Roberta) Mueller of Milbank, SD. She had 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Henry and Emily Rubbert; brother, Lloyd; husband, Phillip; and two sons: infant Gordon, and Glenn.
