Lila Street, 93, of Revillo died on February 21, 2017, at Milbank Area Hospital – Avera Health.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 27, 2017, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Revillo, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Nathan Neugebauer officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday evening at the church from 5 – 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church for one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Albee, SD.

Casket bearers will be: Geoff Street, Jason Grandquist, Jeremy Granquist, Tom Street, Blake Lemcke, Nick Lemcke, and Jason Lemcke. Honorary bearers will be: James Street, David Street, Darwin Street, Roy Larson, John Donovan, Ricky Spencer, Jerry Poppen, and Clifford Wiese.

Lila Ruth Street was born on May 14, 1923, to Herman and Rolfken (Fischer) Poppen in Vernon Township, Grant County, SD. She attended school through the eighth grade. On June 23, 1944, Lila was united in marriage with Thomas Street at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Albee, SD. To this union four children were born. Lila was a devoted homemaker.

Lila was a dedicated member of her church and was active in Ladies Aid. She also participated in the Extension Club. Lila’s hobbies included embroidery work, baking and canning, fishing, and puzzles. Most important to her, however, was her family and the time she spent with them.

Cherishing her memory are her children: Bill (Joan) Street of Milbank, SD; Linda (Sid) Lemcke of Eagan, MN; and Barbara (Lee) Granquist of Cedar, MN; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Lila was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Rolfken; husband, Thomas; son, Calvin Street; grandson, Eric Street; brothers: Ubbe Poppen, Henry Poppen, Herbert Poppen; sisters; Flora Wiese, Margaret Novak, Marie Harrington, and Kathryn Street.
