The Grant County American Red Cross Bloodmobile will conduct a blood drive Tuesday, February 28, from noon to 6 p.m. at Unity Square. A second drive will take place Wednesday, March 1, at the Milbank High School.

A 100-unit goal has been set for this drive. Appointments are appreciated, according to coordinator Margaret Skoog. “Walk ins are also welcome, but should wait until after 1:30 p.m.”

Skoog also noted that giving blood is greatly needed because of the short shelf life. “The supply of blood is constantly in need of being replenished,” she stated. “The blood is only good for a couple of weeks, and gets used up most of the time. People who decide to donate are doing a real service for their loved ones, friends and neighbors. I encourage everyone to donate.”

Homemade cookies, Valley Queen cheese, crackers, orange juice and coffee will be provided for donors. Members of the American Lutheran Church in Milbank will provide assistance for this bloodmobile.

To make an appointment, please contact Skoog at 605-880-0435. “Anyone who has given in the past and has not received a call for an appointment is encouraged to give me a call,” she added.
