Freshman Eli Fischer was the lone Milbank Bulldog to place at the State Class A wrestling tournament in Sioux Falls this past weekend. He secured fifth place at the 106 pound weight class with a tournament record of 4-2.
“Eli had an outstanding tournament,” boasted Bulldog head coach Jeremy Tostenson. “All the guys battled hard and competed.”
Seniors Jake Anderson and Riley Folk finished out their high school wrestling careers with a state tournament appearance. Others competing for Milbank were JD Lusk, Alec Bien and Cole Dockter.
Milbank landed tied for 22nd place in the team standings with 15 points. Pierre captured its third consecutive state title with 181.5 points. Aberdeen Central was the runner-up with 144.5, and Sturgis Brown took third with 144.0.
