Unity Square hosted the American Red Cross blood drive in Milbank February 28. One-hundred and seven units of blood were collected, exceeding the drive’s goal by seven units.
“This drive was fantastic,” stated organizer Margaret Skoog. “The donor flow was even and steady all day. Nobody had to stand in long lines. Most people were in and out in less than an hour, so everyone was happy.”
The drive acquired twelve first-time donors. “Eight of those people gave blood over 20 years ago, but came back to give again, so therefore are counted as a first-time giver,” explained Skoog. “We also had four real first-time givers.” Skoog reminds those who were unable to attend in Milbank of the drive in Big Stone City on March 31.
