Mildred Olson

Mildred J. Olson, age 90 of Watertown, SD died March 15, 2017, at Prairie Lakes Hospital.

Services will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank. Rev. Thom Bowsher will officiate and burial will be in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Albee, SD.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Mildred J. Olson was born October 23, 1926. She was the daughter of Oscar and Elsie Schnaser. She was united in marriage with Harold Iver Olson on May 25, 1947, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Albee.
Mildred worked various jobs in Ortonville, MN, including working at the hardware store and at local cafés. They lived north of Albee for three years then moved to Clawson, MI and lived there for six years. From 1960-1980 Mildred and Harold owned and operated the park stand on Lake Kampeska, near Watertown, SD.

Mildred enjoyed gardening, especially flowers and trees. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing. Mildred loved to travel and enjoyed visiting family throughout the United States.

Cherishing her memory are her children: Sharon (Jerry) Brown of Milbank, SD; Debra Olson of Roseville, MN; grandchildren: Tim Brown (Jennifer) of Milbank, SD and Jessica Watts of Roseville, MN; two great-grandchildren: Landon and Maiah Brown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Elsie; husband, Harold; son, Jerry Olson; and six siblings.
