The Second Annual Kids Helping Kids Pirate Party is Friday, March 24. The party runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church in Milbank. The event is open to the community.
Carnival-type games and food are planned. Tickets are 25 cents each and are good for all games, food, and items at the Pirate Store. “The games are for youth up to the eighth grade,” Koplin says. “All ages are encouraged to attend to help out.” Prizes will be given for all who attend and the basket drawing is at 7:45 p.m. The drawing includes a variety of baskets donated by businesses and community members.
Kids Helping Kids is a ministry for families. “The examples are endless, but we send families a little extra love by giving gas cards, grocery cards, and other items their family needs,” says event organizer Jeny Koplin.
