The Grant County Public Library is celebrating 2017 Money Smart Week April 22-29. A Lunch and Learn Financial Hour will be held at the library on Thursday, April 27, from 12 to 1 p.m. Guest speaker will be Jane Strommen, Ph.D. Strommen is a gerontology specialist. She is jointly appointed to South Dakota State University in Brookings and North Dakota State University in Fargo in the Department of Human Development and Family Science.

Strommen shares the Top 10 Financial Issues Older Folks Should Consider. She focuses on the important conversations that need to take place between family members regarding finances as a family member enters later stages of their life. She also explains how to get started with those conversations. “This is a great opportunity for older family members or for younger family members needing to start those difficult but necessary conversations,” says Grant County Public Library Director Jody Carlson.

All community members are welcome to attend. The event is free and lunch will be provided for those who register by Tuesday, April 25. For more information call the library at 605-432-6543.
