The MHS girls golf team traveled to its first meet of the season. They competed in the Hamlin Early Bird at the Lake Region Golf Club on April 13.

The Lady Bulldogs landed in seventh place in the team standings with a score of 331. “I was very happy with our results as the conditions were very challenging,” stated Coach Mark Keeton. “Comparing our results to last year at the same tournament, we beat our team score by 38 strokes. Besides Mikaela, the rest of the team was right around or under their season average from last year,” explained Keeton. “This is a great start as I expect us to improve throughout the season as we did last year.”

Kylie Kasuske finished 14th with a 104. Mikaela Hoeke carded a personal best score – 110. It was good for 19th place. Rounding out the team were Tori Quade, 117; Alaina Rausch, 118; and Clare Van Dover, 121.

Deubrook won the team title at 278. Sisseton took second with a 286, and Hamlin finished third at 308. Other scores were: Flandreau, 310; Clark-Willow Lake, 326; Webster, 327; Deuel, 368; and Waubay-Summit, 433.
