Milbank’s city-wide rummage sale weekend is Friday and Saturday, April 28 and 29. The sales coincide with Shape Up Milbank Days which run from Friday, April 28, through Saturday, May 6.

During Shape Up Milbank, the National Guard’s 740th Transportation Company will pick up and dispose of items beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 6. Items must be placed on boulevards by 8 a.m. Tree branches, electronics and appliances are excluded and will not be picked up. Large appliances will be picked up from streets and boulevards by Vern’s Recycling for $5 each. Call 1-800-996-4253 to schedule a pickup.

The Milbank City Rubble Site will be open for free disposal of approved items. Electronics are accepted at the rubble site on an on-going basis for a small fee. Electronics left on boulevards during clean up days will not be picked up.

Disposal times are:
Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Monday and Tuesday, May 1-2, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Wednesday through Friday, May 3-5, from 1 to 7 p.m.
Saturday, May 6, from 1-3 p.m.

The Rubble Site will also conduct a paint exchange. Leftover paint that is still usable can be dropped off or picked up during the Rubble Site hours.

Milbank Community Pride will host a sandbox fill. Cost is $10 for a refill or $15 to fill a new sandbox. Call 605-432-5726 to make arrangements.

The Milbank Police Department will conduct a drug disposal Friday, April 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Expired or leftover prescription medications can be disposed of by taking them to the city offices.
