The 11th Annual St. Lawrence School Foundation Gala is Friday, April 28. This year’s theme is A Stroll Through the Seasons. Activities and hors d’oeuvres begin at 5:30 p.m. and dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. at Shady Beach Supper Club. Activities, including the live auction, follow.
“We have two exciting new games this year,” says gala committee member Susie Wendland, “The Man Cave Punch Board and The Big Wheel. Our volunteers and sponsors had fun thinking up new prizes for these games. Over 130 families and businesses generously donated prizes.”
Gala activities include: a raffle, heads or tails, 50/50, a photo booth, student photos, the Motherboard, a horse race, wall of money, chest of chance, and the live and silent auctions. The 2017 gala features a new format for its silent auction. “All silent auction items will be available online at www.32auctions.com/stlawrencegala2017,” says Wendland. “The bidding has begun and will continue until 8 p.m. the night of the gala.”
Dave Wagner is the emcee for the evening. Jim Farrell and Sons are the auctioneers. Carrie Novy is the committee chair. Committee members include: Wendland, Dena Van Lith, Sandra Fonder, Nancy Kruger, Becky Boswell, Mandy Pederson, Beth Snaza, Tanya Schneck, Brenda Anderson, Cheryl Kelly, and Joan Lien.
Tickets are $75 each and available until Friday the April 28, by contacting the school. “The number of guests is limited, so purchase your tickets today,” Wendland says.
The Gala was started in 2007 to raise funds for the St. Lawrence School Foundation. The Foundation was created to ensure St. Lawrence School would continue to offer a faith-based education for children in the community and surrounding area. In the past 10 years, the Gala has raised over $375,000.
