The three and four-year-old classes at Emanuel Lutheran Preschool in Milbank raised $1,900 to donate to St. Jude Children’s Hospital with its annual trike-a-thon. The Milbank Police Department conducted the trike-a-thon for 46 preschoolers from May 4-5.

“During the week, the children learned about bike safety,” explained head teacher Karen Tillma. “They saw short videos, read a story, and colored pictures about things such as wearing a helmet, never riding in the street, being careful by driveways and watching where you are going.”

St. Jude Children’s Hospital treats children from birth to age 18 who are suffering from life-threatening diseases. Families receiving medical treatment do not receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food.
