The MHS girls golf team recorded a team low score of 412 at the Groton Invitational on May 8. “I like the direction we are heading,” said Lady Bulldog Head Coach Mark Keeton. “Looking at last year’s results at the same meet, we improved our team score by 49 strokes.”

Milbank finished fourth in the team standings. Sisseton won the meet with a 366. Aberdeen Roncalli took second place at 401, and Mobridge-Pollock was just behind with a 402. Groton shot a 471. Redfield-Doland and Waubay-Summit had golfers compete, but did not field complete teams.

Kylie Kasuske led the Lady Bulldogs with a sixth place finish at 96. She was the lone player to place in the top 10. Clare Van Dover carded a 104, and Tori Quade and Mikaela Hoeke each shot a 106. Alaina Rausch finished with a 112, and Claire Mischel shot a 133.

“Our short game chipping is playing a big part in the lower scores,” Keeton said. “One area we still need to improve is our putting and, more specifically, our lag putting. If we can improve in this area, our team scores will be sub-400 in no time.”
The team will travel to Madison on Thursday, May 11, for an invitational.
