The annual Memorial Day service to honor fallen soldiers takes place Monday, May 29, at the Milbank City Cemetery. The program begins at 10 a.m. The Birch-Miller Post No. 9 American Legion and Auxiliary, Grant County VFW Post #3486 and Auxiliary, 740th Transportation Company, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 19, Vietnam Veterans Chapter 1054, and the Knights of Columbus will post the colors. Commander Wayne Van Hout will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, and Reverend Doctor DeVern Schwenn will be the guest speaker. The Milbank Middle School band, under the direction of Susan Karels, will perform.

Mass will also be held at the St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery on Monday, May 29, at 8 a.m. Father Gary DeRouchey will give the address. The Grant County VFW Post #3486 firing squad will post the memorial wreaths and conduct a Salute to the Dead.
