Karen Marie Koepke, age 57, of Milbank died May 28, 2017, at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD, due to complications from leukemia.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank.

Visitation will be at Mundwiler Funeral Home, Milbank, on Friday, June 2, from 5 – 7 p.m. and continue at the church on Saturday, one hour prior to the service.

Casket bearers will be: Allen Radermacher, Jeff Radermacher, Bill Radermacher, Tim Radermacher, Greg Radermacher and Jim Radermacher.

Honorary Bearers are Jim Vipond and Emily Mertens, as well as all her friends and relatives.

Karen was born August 26, 1959, in Olivia, MN. She was the daughter of James and Marlys (Engebretson) Radermacher. Karen was baptized and confirmed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Franklin, MN.

Karen graduated from Franklin High School in 1978. After graduation, she attended Hutchinson Vocational School. She was employed at Hartman’s Family Foods for the past 20 years. She thought of her co-workers as family, and she treasured her daily encounters with Jen, Heather, Bob and the whole crew.

Karen was united in marriage with Jim Koepke on February 14, 1995, in Milbank, SD. Jim and Karen did not have any children of their own, but her greatest joys were her nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

She enjoyed reading, shopping and family get-togethers, especially Christmas and their annual 4th of July barbeque.

Karen is survived by her husband, Jim; mother-in-law, Wanda Koepke of Milbank, SD; siblings: Allen (Linda) Radermacher of Franklin, MN; Jeff (Barb) Radermacher of Bird Island, MN; Bill (Becki) Radermacher of Franklin, MN; Tim (Janice) Radermacher of Hector, MN; Deb (Cletus) Frank of Willmar, MN; Greg (Kay) Radermacher of Fairfax, MN; Mary (Steve) Winther of Ortonville, MN; Brenda (Randy) Schmieg of Big Stone City, SD; Jenny (Scott) Pinkert of Milbank, SD; Pam (Todd) Lounsbery of Revillo, SD; Kim ( Randy) Eisenschenk of Milbank, SD; and Jim (Malea) Radermacher of Willmar, MN; brothers-in-law: Dylan of Pierre, SD; Jer of Stockholm, SD; Lars of Milbank, SD; and Greg of Brookings, SD; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Marlys; one brother, Jim Jr.; one sister, Sherri Lynn; her father-in-law, Darlowe; and brother-in-law, Wayne.
