Clifford O. Anderson, age 69, died June 3, 2017, at the Ortonville Hospital.
A memorial service with military honors will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank. Rev. Richard Larson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Gertje Van Lith Post #229.
Clifford Oliver Anderson was born March 12, 1948, in Browns Valley, MN. He was the son of Robert and Doris (Fredrickson) Anderson. He grew up in Browns Valley and graduated with the Browns Valley High School Class of 1966. Cliff was fondly known as “Kiffy” or “Andy”.
Cliff served in the United States Air Force, enlisting on December 6, 1966. He was honorably discharged on December 4, 1970.
Cliff returned to Minnesota. He worked as a police officer in Browns Valley. He later worked for the City of Browns Valley. Cliff moved to Ortonville and worked as a livestock buyer for a number of years. He owned and operated Andy’s Bait Shop for many years. He also was a security officer at the Appleton Prison before his retirement.
Cliff was an avid outdoorsman. He had a passion for hunting. He enjoyed fishing on Big Stone Lake. Cliff will be remembered for his outdoor skills and knowledge. He proudly taught many people to hunt and fish.
Left to cherish his memory are two sons: Michael and wife, Monica, Anderson of Coon Rapids, MN, Shane and wife, Melinda, Anderson of Choctaw, OK; seven grandchildren: Emily, Amber, Grace, Casey, Britney, Lindsey, and Zachary; one great-granddaughter, Sage; two sisters: Cindy and husband, Gerald Heald of Battle Lake, MN, Kim and husband, Don Sykora of Ortonville, MN. He also left behind Wanda Elvecrog, who he was happily together with for 12 years.
Cliff was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Michael.
