The Whetstone Valley Rodeo Association kicked off its team penning season June 3. Four of the 18 teams penned all three of their cattle. Brad Hanson, Marsha Wieting, and Casey Yamaura took home the first place money. Dave Buri, Monte Rosen, and Blair Wittnebel finished second.
Eleven teams took part in the sorting event. Randy Schuchard, Tom Graham,and David Hardee placed first with a time of 1:13. Joanie Hills, Mike McKernan, and Brad Hanson placed second.
The next team penning is Saturday, June 17, at 7 p.m. Concessions are available. There will also be a two-man sort on Saturday, June 10, at 2 p.m.
