The summer reading program, Build a Better World, is underway at the Grant County Public Library. Children from pre-kindergarten through grade 8 can still sign up, free of charge, for the various opportunities.

Sessions are held on Wednesdays in June at 2 p.m. for the Pre-K to grade 5 group. Activities for grades 6-8 are Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m.

Children up to grade 5 can earn library dollars for reading, which they in turn can spend at the special library store. “We also have special activity packets for additional awards,” explained library director Jody Carlson.

Participants in grades 6-8 have other activities which need to be completed in order to be eligible for the after library hours party on July 12.

Carlson also reminds patrons that Tech Tuesday will continue for the summer with the help of Teach SD, a program enabling 4-H members to assist people with their technology needs.

Tech Tuesdays are the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. To schedule your free appointment for June 13 or June 27, call the library at 605-432-6543.
