Robert “Bob” Doschadis, age 84, of Wilmot died Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Milbank Area Hospital – Avera Health.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 17, at 10:30 a.m. at Wilmot Lutheran Church. Rev. Sheila Pohl will officiate and burial will be in the Wilmot City Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 5 – 8 p.m. and continue Saturday morning, one hour prior to the service.
Military honors will be provided by American Legion Drake-Sorbel Post #64. Music will be provided by Kim Lawrence, organist, and Tim Mundwiler, vocalist.
Casket bearers will be: Dustin Reil, Brandon Doschadis, Drew Thomas, Tyler Doschadis, Bau Gustafson, Aaron Niman, Keenan Jones, and James Graff.
Robert Eugene Doschadis was born August 1, 1932, in Browns Valley, MN. He was the son of Leonard and Fern (Schrader) Doschadis. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Robert was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. Following his honorable discharge, Robert returned to South Dakota. He was united in marriage with Mavis Crooks on June 12, 1955, in Wilmot.
Robert worked for the Wilmot Elevator and for the City of Wilmot. He was a faithful member of Wilmot Lutheran Church.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mavis, of Wilmot; two daughters: Karen (Dennis) Reil of Beloit, WI, and Cindy (Bill) Thomas of Rosemount, MN; one son, Michael (Kathy) Doschadis of Inver Grove Heights, MN; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three brothers: William Doschadis of Kelsey, CA, Jerry (Dorothy) Doschadis of Wilmot, SD, and James Doschadis of Beloit, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law, Harriet, and grandson, Travis.
