Edna Paasche, age 107, died on June 23, 2017, at Fairway View Communities in Ortonville, Minnesota.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., at First English Lutheran Church in Ortonville. Pastor David Tonn will officiate.

Visitation will be held on June 30th, one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place in Mound Cemetery.

Edna was born to Hjalmer and Inga (Mikkelson) Haldorson on June 19, 1910, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. She immigrated with her parents to the United States in 1911, settling near Starbuck and Glenwood, MN.

Edna attended school in Cyrus, MN, where she graduated. After graduation, her first job was in the laundry department at the Columbian Hotel.

She married Fred Brown in Ortonville on March 28, 1929. Edna worked alongside her husband at his jewelry shop for many years. Fred died in 1970 at the age of 69. On April 3, 1974, Edna married Mentz Paasche who she remained with until his death in 1984 at the age of 85. Edna lived independently until 2012 when she moved into the Northridge Residence. She later moved to Fairway View Communities, where she remained until her passing.

Edna was a diligent worker, excellent cook, and talented seamstress! She was also a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge and very active with First English Lutheran Church in Ortonville.

Left with her loving memory is her daughter, Audree Thomas of Pleasanton, CA; grandchildren: Jamie White of Antioch, CA, and William Smith of Dublin, CA; step daughter, Elsa Paasche Canterbury of Minneapolis, MN; great-grandchildren: Whitney and Sophia Smith of Dublin, CA, and Lionna Smith and Sedric White of Antioch, CA; and great-great-grandson, Kamel Jones of Antioch, CA.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands: Fred Brown Jr. and Mentz Paasche; and her granddaughter, Whitney Griggs.
