Mundwiler Funeral Home announces the death of Joyce Fisher, age 85 of Milbank who died July 14, 2017, at Ortonville Area Hospital.
Services will be held on Tuesday, July 18, at 10:30 a.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home Chapel, in Milbank. Burial will be in the St. Lawrence Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Monday at Mundwiler Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and continue at Mundwiler Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, one hour prior to the Service.
Joyce Elaine Elsasser was born March 31, 1932, in Colome, SD. She was the daughter of William and Joy (Audiss) Elsasser.
She graduated from Butte High School, Butte, NE.
Joyce was united in marriage with George W. Fisher on April 10, 1964 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Joyce was a homemaker and took pride in raising her family. She worked for General Electric, Dale Electric, was a flag car driver and was a park host in retirement. Joyce enjoyed gardening, embroidery, crocheting, and knitting. She made beautiful afghans and blankets as presents for family and friends. Joyce was known to never miss birthdays or anniversaries of family and friends. Joyce was an avid Twin’s fan.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, George; her children: Connie (Larry) Goehring of Grand Island, NE; Pam Kinport of Columbus, NE; Roger Kinport of Elkhorn, NE; Joel Kinport of Grand Island, NE; Ed Fisher of Iowa City, IA; Wendy (Christopher) Fisher-Grimm of Seattle, WA; Bill Fisher of Ortonville, MN; and Angela Joyce (Michael) Fisher-Lambrechts of Milbank, SD; brothers: Gerald (Dorene) Elsasser of Cheyenne, WY; Wilbur Elsasser of Chayenne, WY; Willus (Willene) Elsasser of Gillette, WY; and Marlow (Dan) Elsasser of Lincoln, NE; sisters: Hilma Wolcott who lives in CA; Delores, (Ronnie) Carlson of Mesa AZ; and Jeanette Bonavertura of Omaha, NE; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents: William and Joy Elsasser; infant son, Randy; son, Timothy Kinport; three brothers: Eugene, Raymond, and Vernon; and one sister, Illa.
Joyce’s family would like to express special gratitude to Dr. Bob Ross and the entire staff at the Ortonville Area Health Services for their love and care. “Above and beyond our expectations!”
The family has requested memorials be sent to the Salvation Army of your choice.
