The South Dakota 4-H Horse Show took place July 17-19 at the South Dakota State Fairgrounds in Huron. Cassidy Schwagel, Brooke Schwagel, Marion Mischel, and Claire Mischel represented Grant County.
Cassidy Schwagel won a purple ribbon and second place in the junior English showmanship. She also won a purple and second place in junior trail. In junior western showmanship, she took a purple and fourth place. She also competed in the junior stock seat equitation and junior hunt seat equitation and won a blue ribbon in each.
Brooke Schwagel won blue ribbons in junior barrel racing and junior pole bending. She earned a red in beginner flag racing.
Marion Mischel won a blue and fifth place in the junior pony/miniature western showmanship. In junior English showmanship she received a red. In junior stock seat equitation, junior hunt seat equitation, and junior ranch riding, she earned white ribbons.
Claire Mischel won red ribbons in senior western showmanship and senior stock seat equitation. She took home white ribbons in senior hunt seat equitation and senior ranch riding.
