Nadeane Buri, age 95, of Milbank died August 11, 2017, at Milbank Care and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 19, at 11:00 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church in Milbank. Rev. DeVerne Schwenn will officiate. Burial will be at Milbank City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 18, from 6 – 8 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday, one hour prior to the service.
Music will be provided by: Sheila Dailie as organist, Sherry DeBoer as pianist, and Julie French as vocalist.
Casket bearers will be Warren Berg, Gary Ellingson, Cecil Larson, Lonny Junker, Kevin Berg, and Ben Johnson.
Nadeane Buri was born on January 21, 1922, in LaBolt, SD. She was the daughter of John and Olivia (Johnson) Englund. Nadeane grew up in LaBolt and went to high school in Revillo, SD, where she graduated in 1940. After high school, she moved to Chicago, IL, where she worked as a bomb inspector. She then moved to San Diego, CA, and worked as a government airplane inspector on North Island Naval Air Station, CA.
She married Wesley Tiesing on December 18, 1943. Nadeane worked for 17 years from 1969-1986 for US Bank of Oregon as an assistant fraud inspector.
Nadeane married Vance Buri in 1986 and moved to Milbank, SD. She was married to Vance until his passing in 2008.
Nadeane was a very active member of the Central United Methodist Church in Milbank where she enjoyed singing in the choir.
Nadeane was known for her calm temperament. She loved people and enjoyed visiting with those around her.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Paulette (Tom) Lytle of North Plains, OR; Annette (Nicholas) Walenta of Rapid City, SD; and Scot Tiesing of Sacramento, CA; stepson, Doug (Linda) Buri of Milbank, SD; grandchildren: Matthew (Irza) Walenta and Jadeane Tiesing; great-grandchildren: Isaiah and Luke Walenta; and sibling, Loren (Diane) Englund.
Nadeane was preceded in death by her parents, John and Olivia Englund; husbands: Wesley Tiesing and Vance Buri; and siblings: Oliver, Hubert, Homer, Blenda, Edsel, Audrey, and Pauline.
The family suggests that memorials be given to the Milbank Educational Foundation, 904 E 4th Ave, Milbank SD 57252.
