Milbank Students Perform Above Average on Smarter Balanced Testing

Students in the Milbank School District performed above the state average in most grades according to Superintendent Tim Graf. His report came during the regular meeting of the Board of Education on Monday, August 14.
“Outperforming the state average by five percent or better is quite significant,” Graf says. Scores in English were: (the state average is in parentheses): third grade, 60 (47); fourth grade, 62 (48); fifth grade, 67 (50); sixth grade, 59 (48); seventh grade, 58 (52); eighth grade, 48 (48); and 11th grade, 61 (64). Math scores showed third grade, 67 (53); fourth grade, 54 (49); fifth grade, 53 (40); sixth grade, 52 (41); seventh grade, 36 (44); eighth grade, 43 (41); and 11th grade, 28 (40).
