Lynne Quale

Lynne Quale, age 77 of Summit, SD died August 19, 2017, at Doughery Hospice House in Sioux Falls.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Summit, SD. Rev. Justin Neugebauer will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown.

Visitation will be at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank on Wednesday from 5 – 7 p.m. and continue at the church on Thursday, one hour prior to the services.

Casket bearers will be grandsons: Charlie Eccles, Justin Eccles, Jason Eccles, Jacob Kneeland, Michael Connors, and Gage Connors. Honorary bearers will be her remaining grandchildren.

Music will be provided by Val Moen, organist and Duane Hogie, vocalist.

Lynne Smith was born March 15, 1940, in Ottawa, IL. She was the daughter of Harold Ernest Smith and Rue Baxter Wiley. Lynne completed her education and was united in marriage with Terrence Connors in 1959. They were blessed with three children: Terrence, Betsy, and Tony.
Lynne later married Delbert “Pete” Eccles in 1965. They were blessed with three children: Frank, Scotty, and Laurie.
Lynne’s husband passed away and she later married Wayne Quale in 1978. Three step-daughters were welcomed into her family: Janice, Debbie, and Diane.

Lynne was employed at People’s State Bank in Summit for 32 years. She retired in December of 2016. Lynne worked as the bookkeeper for AP & Sons following her retirement.

Lynne was a faithful member of Hope Lutheran Church and was a confirmation mentor, as well as a faithful organist for many years. She enjoyed softball, pool, pinochle, and bowling. She liked crafts. She was a proud mother and grandma – and especially enjoyed following in all their activities.

Left to cherish Lynne’s memory are her children: Terrence Connors of Blackhawk, SD; Betsy Connors of Watertown, SD; Tony (Toni) Connors of Sioux Falls, SD; Frank “Pete” Eccles of Summit, SD; Laurie (Scott) Kneeland of Summit, SD; step-daughters: Janice Quale of Milbank, SD; Diane (Norm) Holt of Hartford, SD; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Geraldine Kukuk of Earlville, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Lynne was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Delbert Eccles and Wayne Quale; son, Scotty Eccles; and step-daughter, Debbie Quale.
