Stengel, Tyler, and McKernan Win 5th Team Penning

The Whetstone Valley Rodeo Association held its fifth team penning event Saturday, August 19. Fifteen of the 25 teams penned at least one critter.

The team of Milt Stengel, Kathy Tyler, and Mike McKernan took home the first place money. Second place went to Donald Peterson, Steve Hamman, and Calvin Thompson. Randy Schuchard, Dave Hardie, and Brad Hanson came in third.

Team sorting did not go as well. According to event organizer Kathy Tyler, “Only five teams completed the task.” Calvin Thompson, Blair Wittnebel, and Milt Stengel placed first. Steve Hamman, Joanie Hills, and Gary Letrud finished in second place. The next team penning event is Friday, September 8, at 7 p.m.
