Approximately 1,400 people gathered on Main Street in front of the Grant County Courthouse on August 24, for Milbank’s first CityFest. Nationally-known Christian music artists Hollyn, V. Rose, Bread of Stone, Cade Thompson, Bobby Bugattii, and Rachelle Hope performed. BMX and FMX stunt bike riders also put on a show, and food and merchandise vendors lined the area.

“We were really excited about how it turned out,” stated one of the local organizers, Daryl Liebe. “The vendors were very happy with the sales. We have had businesses ask to get involved. The more people that get involved and catch the vision, the better we can all serve and grow this Cityfest celebration.”

Liebe said, “There are plans to have another one next year. We hope to bring more churches onboard and possibly add business sponsors, so we can make it an even bigger event.” Lifelight of Sioux Falls brought the event to Milbank in conjunction with Liebe and Jake Helstrom, also of Milbank.
