Ruby Eunice (Webster) Madsen, age 96, formerly of Wilmot, SD, died on August 24, 2017, at Mother Joseph Manor in Aberdeen, SD. Services will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Wilmot Lutheran Church in Wilmot, SD. Rev. Sheila Pohl will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 1, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Wilmot City Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Milo Madsen, Lee Madsen, Charles Madsen, Brian Madsen, Lucas Madsen and Travis Madsen.

Honorary bearers will be Anita Doschadis, Pat Doschadis, Megan Henkenberns, Joyce Madsen, and Sharon Madsen.

Music will be provided by Sandy and David Veflin, vocalists.

Ruby Eunice (Webster) Madsen was born on September 14, 1920, in Wilmot, SD. She was the daughter of Lillian J. (Hanson) and Joseph W.F. Webster. Ruby attended country school in Becker Township and graduated from Wilmot High School in 1939.

Ruby was united in marriage with Charlie Madsen on April 5, 1947, in Wilmot, SD. Together they were blessed with 43 years of marriage and three children: Milo, Lee, and Anita.

Ruby and Charlie resided in Wilmot, SD, until 1960, when they moved to the Britton area. In 1967, they returned to Wilmot. Ruby worked as a cook and dietitian at the Wilmot Community Home from 1968 until her retirement. She enjoyed babysitting for many families in her retirement.

Ruby was an active member of Wilmot Lutheran Church and enjoyed serving others. She was also a member of the Drake-Sorbel American Legion Auxiliary for over 19 years. In her free time, Ruby enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, doing crafts, and entertaining friends and family.

Ruby moved to Mother Joseph Manor in Aberdeen, SD, in 2011. She resided there until her death on August 24, 2017.

Ruby is survived by her sons: Milo (Joyce) Madsen of Aberdeen, SD; Lee (Sharon) Madsen of Littleton, CO; daughter, Anita (Pat) Doschadis of Mina, SD; four grandsons; one granddaughter; nine great-grandsons; and two great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lillian Webster; husband, Charlie Madsen; sister, Anna; and brother, Gordon.
