The people of Texas continue to suffer in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Sending prayers to those who have lost loved ones or their homes and jobs is one way to offer comfort. Another is to donate hygiene items and school supplies.

Orphan Grain Train, a top-rated charity according to Charity Navigators, is aiding in the relief efforts. The Milbank Grain Train site is ready to receive your donations. A list of requested items is available online at www.ogt.org. Coordinators urge you to consider adding to the relief supplies as they say your donation of even one or two items can make a difference. Monetary donations are also encouraged.

The Milbank Orphan Grain Train warehouse at 101 W. 12th Avenue will be open from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m on Tuesdays. Items can also be dropped off at the Emanuel Lutheran Church or by contacting one of the coordinators of the Milbank Orphan Grain Train.

Coordinators include: Jeanette Stensland 467-0205; Joyce Kasuske 432-4377; or Mae Saeger 432-6413. Checks, made payable to the Orphan Grain Train, Inc., can also be mailed directly to the company at P.O. Box 1466 Norfolk, NE 68701.
