The Milbank Lady Bulldogs volleyball team secured a convincing 3-0 victory over the Webster Bearcats in Northeast Conference action Thursday, September 7, at the Milbank Armory. Milbank improved to 2-1 for the season with the win.

The Lady Bulldogs started slow, but controlled the matchup. In the opening set, they rallied to win at 25-15. In the second set, they allowed Webster just four points to take the set at 25-4. Milbank continued to dominate in the third set and cruised to a 25-18 victory to end the match.

Senior Molly Rick led the Lady Bulldogs with 14 kills on 30-34 hitting. She was also credited with one block. Jaecy Engebretson tallied 13 kills on 13-14 hitting, three aces on 15-16 serving, and 13 assists on 33-33 setting. Gabbi Cummins chipped in with six kills on 18-20 hitting and 14 assists on 21-21 setting. Jaden Hoeke had one ace on 14-17 serving; Maty Lightfield, one ace on 9-10 serving and seven digs; and Tonya Meyer, five digs.

Milbank plays in tournament new to their schedule in Montevideo, Minnesota on Saturday, September 9. They will face teams they traditionally do not encounter. The team then travels to Arlington Tuesday, September 12, for a non-conference matchup against the Cardinals.
