Milbank Boys Golf Team Hits Season Low

The Milbank High School boys golf team hit a season low score of 367 during the Groton Invitational September 9. Milbank Head Golf Coach Mark Keeton said, “As a team, we were able to cut down on our penalty strokes which made a big difference. I like the direction we are heading, but we still need to see improvement if we want to be competitive.”
Milbank finished fourth in the team standings. Aberdeen Roncalli won the event with a 325. Sisseton took second at 330, and Aberdeen Central’s junior varsity team placed third with a 340. Groton Area had 378; Mobridge-Pollock, 380, and Redfield-Doland, 416.
Adam Thomas was the lone golfer to place in the top 10 for Milbank. He took sixth place with an 18-hole round of 84. Lucas Schaefbauer of Roncalli earned medalist honors with a 70. Also competing for the Bulldogs, were Conner VanVooren, who shot an 88; Isaac Nolz at 95; Noah Pillatzki at 100; Keaton Hagen at 105, and Jake Trevett at 106.
