The MHS boys golf team competed at the Watertown Invitational at Prairie Winds Golf Course Monday, September 18. Milbank finished in 12th place in the team standings with a total score of 373. Aberdeen Central won the meet with a 308. Aberdeen Roncalli was close behind at 312, and Harrisburg took third at 313.

Conner VanVooren led the Bulldogs with an 18-hole round of 84. He tied for 13th place in the individual standings. Adam Thomas shot a 93 and tied for 21st place. Noah Pillatzki finished with a 95. Logan Meyer had a 101, and Isaac Nolz shot a 104.

“As a team we are doing a better job saving strokes by managing our bad shots,” stated Bulldog Head Coach Mark Keeton. “We are making better decisions and not turning one bad shot into two or three. With that said, there is still room for improvement. We also have yet to put together four good scores. As a whole, I like the direction we are heading with one meet to go.”

Other team scores included: Watertown, 313; Mitchell, 322; Sisseton, 323; Sioux Valley, 325; Watertown JV, 331; Pierre, 336; Brookings, 336; and Huron, 338.

Milbank travels to Sisseton on Thursday, September 21, for their last regular season tournament. The Bulldogs will also compete in the Region 1A tournament at Dell Rapids on Monday, September 25.
