Eleanora Quast

Eleanora Ruth Bergstrand was born to John Henry and Lillian (Becker) Bergstrand on October 17, 1934, in Fargo, ND. She grew up in Valley City, ND, where she attended school and graduated from College High in 1952.

After high school, she moved to Minneapolis and lived there until her marriage to Richard C. Quast on January 1, 1955. To this union two children were born: Kathleen and Kevin. In 1960, Richard and Eleanora moved their family to Dickey, ND and farmed there until 1981. They then moved to Valley City, ND, and resided there until 2006, when they moved one final time to Ortonville, MN.

Eleanora was a devoted mother and friend. She was an active member of the Valley City Epworth Methodist Church where taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Ortonville and the United Methodist Women where she held several positions, including President and was awarded the “Jewel of a Woman” award!

Left with her loving memory are her children: Kathleen Korth of Big Stone City, SD and Kevin (Karen) Quast of Independence, KS; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and siblings: Pauline Polum of Kodiak, AK; John (Eunice) Bergstrand of Meridian, ID; and many nieces, nephews and other family members.

Eleanora was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Quast; grandson, Lance Korth; siblings: Mary Kasowski, Joseph Bergstrand, Jean Coombs, Edwin Bergstrand, Pearl Johnson, and Joan Byran.
