Mildred Marlys Schneck was born July 16, 1927 in Ortonville, MN, the daughter of William and Martha (Oehler) Beutler. Mildred grew up in the Ortonville area and graduate from the Ortonville High School in 1944. She married Bernard Schneck on December 22, 1945. Mildred and Bernard were blessed with three children: Linda, Alan and Gary.
Mildred worked alongside her husband on their dairy farm in Alban Township. They moved to Milbank in 1977 and she started working for the Milbank school lunch program and was a cook at the United Methodist Church Camp for five years.
Mildred was a long time member of American Lutheran Church, where she was active with the Altar guild, church circle and the wedding committee. She was also an active member in the community, volunteering at the Whetstone Valley nursing home and was a member of both the Milbank Senior Citizens and the Big Stone Seniors.
Mildred enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles, and taking guided bus tours across the United States. Her true passion was her family, she cherished every minute of time spent with them, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Linda (Kenny) Zielike of Big Stone City, SD; Alan (Linda) Schneck of Milbank, SD; and Gary (Luz) Schneck of Reno, NV; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; and many other nieces, nephews and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard in 1991; parents; grandchildren: Nancy and Jesse Schneck; siblings: Myrtle (Wilbur) Brown, Roy (Lola) Beutler and Percy (Rosetta) Beutler.
