Day 2 Wraps Up State Golf Tournament

Milbank golfers, Conner VanVooren and Adam Thomas, completed the 2017 State Class A High School Boys Golf Tournament with solid scores today, Tuesday, October 3. VanVooren tied for 28th place with his two-day score of 179. He shot an 88 (42-46) the first day and a 91 today (43-48). Thomas wrapped up his high school golf career in 59th place. His tournament score was a 199. He notched a 98 (52-46) on day one and a 101 (56-45) today.
Lucas Schaefbauer of Aberdeen Roncalli won the medalist honors with a 149 (72-77). Kolby Newborg of Tea Area was the runner-up with a 154 (76-78).
Aberdeen Roncalli captured the State Class A championship title with a two-day team score of 649. Dakota Valley was the runner-up with a 674, and Sisseton claimed third place with a 702. Other top team scores were Sioux Valley, 705; Madison, 718; St. Thomas More, 721; Tea Area, 723; Elk Point-Jefferson, 728; SF Christian, 734; Parkston, 771; Dell Rapids, 793; Mobridge-Pollock, 801; Chamberlain, 807; Redfield-Doland, 870; Custer, 871, and Hot Springs, 891.
