The MHS girls tennis season culminates at the 2017 StateTennis Tournament. The tournament takes place Thursday, October 5, through Saturday, October 7, in Sioux Falls.

Senior Jodi DeVaal has a 3-14 record and plays at the No. 1 singles position. She teams up with freshman Halli Essington at No. 1 doubles. Essington takes with her a 8-8 record and also competes at the No. 2 singles spot.

A pair of Rhiannas, Rhianna Cantine and Rhianna Welberg, fight it out at No. 2 doubles. Both sophomores have a 3-12 record as they head into the state tournament. Cantine plays at No. 3 singles with a 2-13 record. Welberg, at No. 4 singles, also holds a 2-13 season record.

Eighth-grader Hattie Muellenbach plays in the No. 5 singles position. She has a 3-13 record. Freshman Jenna Johnson rounds out the team at No. 6 singles with a 4-9 record. The duo pairs up at the No. 3 doubles position. They take a 5-8 record into the state tourney.

Eighth-grader, Alexis Ninneman, travels with the team to serve as an alternate. The team is lead by Coach Jim Dahl.
