Local Boy Scouts of America Troop 45, Cub Scout Pack 38, and the scout’s families begin their annual Scouting for Food and Sight drive Saturday, October 21. The scouts will go door-to-door in Milbank Saturday morning to place a door hanger on everyone’s door as a reminder to bag non-perishable food donations, toiletries, paper goods, eye glasses, and hearing aids. The bags will be collected by the scouts the next Saturday, October 28, beginning at 9 a.m.

Scoutmaster Jeff Loutsch says, “This food drive is instrumental in restocking the shelves at the pantry and helping them get ready for the holiday season. All non-perishable items are greatly appreciated. Please try to notice the outdates on items when filling bags or boxes to donate.” The eyeglasses and hearing aids are passed on to the Lions Club.

“Please try to have all items outside by 9 a.m. so we do not miss your donation,” Loutsch added. If your house is missed, or you forget to set your donations outside, you can take them to the food pantry located on the first floor of the Grant County Courthouse, or call Loutsch at 432-7946 to arrange for a pickup.
