In celebration of the South Dakota High School All-State Chorus and Orchestra, two mixed quartets from Milbank High School have been selected to join nearly 1,000 voices and a full symphony orchestra on Saturday, October 28.
The 2017 All-State Chorus and Orchestra will be under the direction of Dr. Tim Seelig and Michael Gerdes. The Sioux Falls Premier Center will serve as the rehearsal and performance venue for the Grand Concert scheduled for 7 p.m. The concert will be broadcast live on South Dakota Public Television.
The students representing Milbank include, as pictured, back row, left to right, Shawn Stemsrud, Jordan Riley (bass alternate), Landon Brown, Ben Harstad and Brandon Hansen (tenor alternate). Front row, Kellie Christians (soprano alternate), Abby Weber, Elisabeth Schwenn, Taylor Thue, Hope Osborn and Hailey Underwood (alto alternate). Not pictured is Adam Thomas.
The students will be accompanied by MHS choir director Miriam Schwenn.
