Lady Bulldogs to Host First Round Match of Region Tournament

The Milbank Area Lady Bulldogs host the Webster Area Bearcats in the opening round of the Region 1A volleyball tournament. The match is Tuesday, October 31, at 7 p.m. at the Milbank Armory.
The Lady Bulldogs finished their regular season with a 10-14 record. They are the No. 4 seed in the tournament. Webster Area is 5-21 this season and holds the No. 5 seed.
Groton Area, at 17-5, is the No. 1 seed and has a bye the first round. The winner of the Milbank – Webster match faces Groton Thursday, November 2, at 7 p.m. in Groton.
The other first round matches pit No. 2 Redfield-Doland against No. 7 Tiospa Zina, and No. 3 Aberdeen Roncalli faces No. 6 Sisseton. The winners of those two matches battle it out in the semi-final round Thursday, November 2.
The winners of the two semi-final matches advance to the Sweet 16 tournament. Those 16 teams will be re-seeded for the Sweet 16 games onTuesday, November 7. The eight teams who win a Sweet 16 game, advance to the State Class A high school volleyball tournament November 16-18 in Rapid City.
