Families In Need May Seek Help Through Angel Tree Project

Families in need of assistance with Christmas presents for their children are encouraged to take advantage of the Grant County Christian Service Council’s Angel Tree Project.
The Angel Tree Project provides clothes and toys to families who otherwise may not receive Christmas presents. The generous donations of community members helped provide nearly 200 children with presents last year.
Applications are now being accepted through the Inter-lakes Community Action office in the Grant County Courthouse. Completed forms need to be turned in to Heather Rise by Thursday, November 9. “If applications do not get completed and turned in by that deadline, they will not be accepted,” Rise explained.
A card with the child’s needs, clothing sizes and interests will be hung on a Christmas tree at the three local banks in Milbank – Great Western Bank, First Bank and Trust and Wells Fargo, the week of Thanksgiving. Community members may then chose a card and purchase gifts for that child. Wrapped gifts must be returned back to the bank and placed under the tree by Monday, December 12.
