Jim was born on August 12, 1950, in Ortonville, MN, to Muriel and Jim Geier. He graduated from Ortonville High School in 1968, and went on to work as a registered nurse at the Milbank Hospital for most of his career. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and hunter. He had three confirmed hole-in-ones, maybe more, depending on who you ask! Only Jim knows for sure. He loved woodworking during his retirement. Jim had an infectious laugh and will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

Jim is survived by his mother, Muriel Geier of Ortonville, MN; three sons: Jared Geier (Allison) of Watertown, SD; Eric (Rachel) Geier of Cold Springs, MN; Nathan (Kelly) Geier of Chaska, MN; four grandchildren: Lauren, Jonas, Aiden, and Arie Geier; aunt, Mary Geier of Ortonville, MN; two cousins: Peter Geier and his wife, Jane, of Minneapolis, MN; and Nancy Geier of Plymouth, MN.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Geier, Sr.; uncle, Don Geier; and his beloved grandparents.
