Volleyball Team Receives Season-End Awards

The Lady Bulldogs volleyball team received season-end awards on Monday, November 13. Senior Molly Rick was named the Most Valuable Player and Hardest Worker. She was a team captain and kill leader. She ranked the highest with 351 kills at 17 percent, and had the highest serving percentage at 94 percent. Rick went 264 of 281 serving and led the team with 379 digs.
Senior Maty Lightfield earned the Most Inspirational and Best Attitude Player. She was also a team captain, and ranked the second highest in assists at 214. She was second highest in serving at 93 percent – 235 of 253 – and had 222 digs.
Junior Makayla Johnson was named the Most Improved Player. She ranked third highest in aces at 30 and blocks at 11. Junior Jaden Hoeke was the block leader on the team at 18.
Sophomore Jaecy Engebretson was named the Hardest Worker. She was the team’s ace leader with 42, and had a 90 percent serving total, including 265 of 294 from the service line. She was also the assist leader at 300.
Players receiving a Major M varsity letter include: seniors Sadie Holland, Maty Lightfield, Molly Rick, and Katie Vander Wal; juniors Gabbi Cummins, Jaden Hoeke, Makayla Johnson, Tonya Meyer, Elisabeth Schwenn, and Katie Wollschlager; and sophomore Jaecy Engebretson.
Players received a minor M participation certificate include: juniors Kylie Kasuske and Anna Mathews; sophomores Cassidy Christians, Amy Nelson, Tracy Pillatzki, and Elsie Rogers; freshmen Josie Adolph, Siri Bien, Rhianna Folk, Casie Jones, Shelby Lee, Lindsey Mertens, Leah Mogard, Camryn Phinney, Maci Priebe, Greta Snaza, Sammy Staehling, Madi Thue, and Jessica Van Peursem; and student managers Abby Weber, Hailey Underwood, Morgan Raffety, and Jessica Pillatzki.
