Audrey Jibben, age 84, of Milbank, SD, died at the Wilmot Care Center on Monday, November 27, 2017. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank. Rev. Dr. DeVern Schwenn will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home and will continue on Saturday one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at Milbank City Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Nicholas Loeschke, Samuel Jibben, Shane Freese, Mike Moate, Chuck Heinje and Cory Ehlebracht.
Music will be provided by Sheila Dailie, pianist, and Richard Jibben, vocalist.
Audrey Clara Marie (Troelson) Jibben was born on October 8, 1933, in Troy, SD. She was the daughter of William and Mildred (Falk) Troelson. Audrey’s family moved to the Marvin and Twin Brooks area when she was a baby, where she grew up on the family farm. She was united in marriage with Arnold Jibben on October 27, 1951, in Webster, SD. Together they were blessed with 39 years of marriage and four children: Darla, Keith, Daryl, and Mikel.
Audrey and Arnold lived on the Jibben family farm northwest of Milbank after they were married. Audrey was a devoted farm wife for many years. She loved working on the farm, feeding cattle and working in the fields. She continued to manage the farm after her husband’s death on May 15, 1991. Audrey enjoyed being outdoors, but was also a very capable homemaker. She was an accomplished seamstress and cook. She enjoyed collecting cookbooks and trying new recipes.
Audrey was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Twin Brooks. She transferred membership to the First Presbyterian Church in Wilmot when the Twin Brooks church closed. In August 2011, Audrey moved to the Northridge Nursing Home in Ortonville and then moved to the Wilmot Care Center in September 2011. She will be remembered by her family as a loving mother and grandmother.
Audrey is survived by her children: Darla (Mark) Loeschke of Milbank, SD; Keith (Paulette) Jibben of Graceville, MN; Daryl (Jackie) Jibben of Jasper, MN; and Mikel “Wolfie” (Kim) Jibben of Corona, SD; brother, Charles Troelson of Twin Brooks, SD; 15 grandchildren: Emily Ehlebracht, Nicholas Loeschke, Sally Heinje, Jacob Jibben, Arnold Jibben, Ernest Jibben, Amy Freese, Carrie Moate, Samuel Jibben, Gwenelle Trivette, Jessie Byrne, Stacy Nelson, Randi Leeds, Cortney Roberson, and Cody Jenkins; 26 great-grandchildren: Allen Freese, Ashten Freese, Mason Freese, Faith Moate, MaKayla Moate, Chase Moate, Eljayen Jibben, Nuesha Jibben, Issabelle Jibben, Hailey Jibben, Samantha Jibben, Zoe Trivette, Hunter Trivette, Arrow Trivette, Molly Ehlebracht, Alex Ehlebracht, Tyler Heinje, Hailey Heinje, Brittany Heinje, Emma Byrne, Jacob Byrne, Isaac Nelson, Lilly Nelson, Chloe Nelson, Kyia Leeds and Riley Wenzel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold Jibben; brother, Earl Troelson; and infant brother, David Troelson.
