Duane William Nelson, age 67 of rural Clinton died December 10, 2017, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 13, at 1:30 p.m. at Elim Free Lutheran Church in Clinton. Rev. Richard Larson will officiate and burial will be in the Clinton City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 12 at Elim Free Lutheran Church from 5 – 7 p.m. and continue on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service.
Casket bearers will be: Steven Nelson, Jeremy Nelson, Joshua Spors, Larry Nelson, Nathan Nelson, and Dennis Larson. Honorary bearers will be Duane’s family, friends, and co-workers.
Duane William Nelson was born April 26, 1950, in Ortonville, MN. He was the son of Roy and Marie (Hein) Nelson. Duane was a life-long resident of Clinton. He was baptized and confirmed at Elim Free Lutheran Church. He attended school in Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School. Duane farmed for many years before he drove truck, most recently for Triple E Enterprises, Milbank, SD. He enjoyed playing pool and darts.
Left to cherish his memory are his siblings: Bob (and wife Pam) Nelson of Milbank, SD; Richard Nelson of Clinton, MN; Kathy Spors of Milbank, SD; nieces and nephews: Steven Nelson of Paynesville, MN; Jeremy (and fiancée Emily) Nelson of Berlin, ND; Joshua Spors of Milbank, SD; and Ashley Spors of Milbank, SD; one great-niece, Pyper Nelson of Paynesville, MN.
