Gymnasts Take Third at Holiday Meet

The Milbank High School gymnastics team captured third place in the team standings at the Britton-Hecla Holiday Gymnastics Meet on Tuesday, December 12. They compiled 125.55 points.
Deuel won the meet with 142.70 points. Watertown junior varsity was second with 131.00. Other teams competing were: Britton-Hecla, fourth, 117.45; Sisseton, fifth, 115.60; and Aberdeen Central junior varsity, sixth, 106.60.
Lady Bulldog Head Coach Amber Fraasch said, “We scored another team total around 125 points, which is consistent, but it is time to move above this mark.” Mackenzie Weinkauf hit her second state qualifying score on the vault with an 8.65. Five girls also scored a personal best in the meet: Greta Snaza (vault), Dani Yamaura (vault and all-around), Maddi Gustafson (bars), Joci McFarland (beam), and Madison Mathews (floor).
Milbank hosts their biggest meet of the season, the Lewis Family Drug Invitational, Saturday, December 16, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Milbank Armory.
