Bulldog Grapplers Place at Madison Invitational

Three Milbank wrestlers earned a top five finish at the Madison Invitational wrestling tournament Saturday, December 16.
Eli Fischer led the Bulldogs with a first place finish at 106 pounds. Alec Bien took fourth place at 160 pounds while Brodie Holtquist placed fifth at the 170 pound weight class.

“We battled and competed,” stated Bulldog head coach Jeremy Tostenson. “We are seeing some improvements on the mat but we need to keep working.”

The Dawgs finished 10th overall with 74 points. Rapid City Stevens took first with 246 points, and Harrisburg was second with 198. Other teams competing in the event were Sturgis Brown, 157; Howard, 130; Chamberlain, 125; Madison, 114.5; Spearfish, 113; Lennox, 86; Wagner, 79; Dell Rapids, 68.5; Brookings, 65; Sioux Falls O’Gorman, 55; Tea Area, 48; West Central, 35.5; Sioux Falls Lincoln, 34; Kingsbury County, 28; Groton Area, 24, and Flandreau, 11.

Milbank will be back in action at the Sioux Falls Lincoln two-day tournament Friday and Saturday, December 29-30.
